The “promised” money for mental health care from Jeremy Hunt, is after years, by parties of all colours, of underfunding and closure of beds and services. In one major northern city when the large instittion was closed there were three new hospitals built with a total of 20 wards for in-patient care, fifteen years later these were reduced to a…[Read more]

  • YODEL are marginally better than Hermes who are absolutely horrific, I won’t buy from any company who I know use them as couriers because they are such a joke. I think if you are a bit off the beaten track couriers in general seem to dislike you.

  • @luke So I’m not allowed to buy food I want because the company is told not to make it because other people have no self control? Is that what you are suggesting?

If not, how do you propose to fine Mars or Ginsters for the person who eats three when I eat one?

  • Why do you blame the food manufacturers? People have free will to buy their products or not. And plenty of people eat them within a workable calorie input and aren’t fat. I can’t open a packet of biscuits or a 150g bag of crisps without scoffing the lot. I don’t blame Crawfords and Tyrells, I just don’t keep them in the house unless they are…[Read more]

  • I probably shouldn’t comment as I’ve turned into a blob in the last year and am not and have never been at all motivated to do exercise except in relation to the horse. However….

Why do you need to do more than you’re already doing exercise wise? It seems you already do more than the majority of people. Let your body rest and get over your…[Read more]

12 BILLION in foreign aid ! …. how much extra does the NHS need ?
from the dregs of my economics studies years ago, private banks don’t manufacture electronic money. A simplistic view makes it look like that but the banks have assets and liabilities that the money is linked to. Unfortunately, I don’t quite understand it well enough to give a…[Read more]

  • I would do as you said about the B and B for next time and also set some kind of schedule, i.e., yes, you can come then, but then I have big commitments on for work/a show to go to/a visit to family, so I will be away as of X day.

Hopefully, the money thing will wear off. It’s obviously very new. I’d guess that in the end, it will either wear off…[Read more]

  • I was 21 when I passed but I don’t count that as I’d been learning since 16 but had breaks between “stints”.

My OH is learning at the age of 31, I won’t lie he is struggling with nerves as he was in an accident when he was 17 (he wasn’t driving) and he’s never really gotten over it. But, hes using the instructor I had, who is nothing short of…[Read more]

  • frogface replied to the topic Drink Driving? in the forum Chit chat 6 years, 7 months ago

If I’m driving- even if it’s only driving home in the morning- I will not have a single drink. Even one drink affects me far too much to consider driving; my inability to resist crisps after a glass of wine is testament to that.

One of the things that scares me the most is the amount of people who think it’s ok to drive jet-lagged or straight off…[Read more]
