I have made a complaint via the citizens advice bureau about the managing agents of our block of flats . It appears they have not registered with any recognised ombudsman despite having a logo on their website.
I have been told this is illegal by the ombudsman whose logo they display.they also checked the other regulatory bodies and they aren’t
Recorded there either.
I wondered how / what trading standards will do and how it works.
I don’t know but our TS don’t allow contact from the public, it has to be done via a referral from CAB Consumer advice line. They then please themselves whether they contact the complainer or not – I contacted CAB several times about a trader operating illegally (not providing a postal address for one thing) and TS never got back to me. I have no idea whether they took up the matter with the trader concerned but it’s a bit like battling fog TBH
We had a lot of dealing with TS about a car. As I recall, we contacted them, they arranged a time to come out and discuss it and we supplied them with a mountain of paperwork. They looked into it and added it to their file of complaints about the dealers, but never did anything more than chat to them about improving their service…
