If it is the same Trusts always struggling, maybe they are the ones with a greater population catchment. Our Trust is always struggling ,has been in special measures, but a lot of people in quite a “poor” area.
Also about 3 weeks for a docs appointment locally so people rock up at A &E.

  • The yodel guy round here takes pride in knowing where everyone is and hates using his satnav unless absolutely necessary. But drivers like him are few and far between. Like the Amazon driver who turned up the other day, sat blocking the drive for 5mins as he couldn’t deliver before his specified time, then practically threw the parcel at me with a…[Read more]

  • I ate all manner of rubbish as a kid. But I was out all day moving around. And out with the dog in the evenings.
Playing fields are being sold off and competition and the rough and tumble of sports and PE in school is not encouraged.
Kids stay indoors and play computer games. EVERY sport and hobby is struggling to attract young people.
    Parents are…[Read more]

  • I’m really not sure it’s that simple TBH – I don’t eat rubbish (well, not often) or large portions, and apart from breakfast and a lunchtime snack I have a modest main meal once a day. And I do 2 hours physical labour at the yard every day, don’t drink and am pretty much always on the go (no idea how I found time to work lol) but the weight will…[Read more]

  • If she has not formally terminated her tenancy giving the obligatory notice, she (or her guarantor) are liable for the rent. You need to be careful about accepting rental payments from him unless you put it in writing that he only has use and occupation, and no rights to the tenancy. I would also advise him in writing that you are selling the…[Read more]

I used to work with BT- they would not be the ones to contact you about a problem with your line, you have to contact them (and only if you pay your line rental to them).

If you pay line rental to TalkTalk, it would be them who you would need to speak to about any issues.

Call your banks and let them know- if they accessed your ebay account they…[Read more]

  • You need to take the pressure off. I’d arrange cover for the horses before it after wirk twice a week, and diary an exercise session followed by a bath. Horses twice a day every day is punishing – it’s no wonder you’re fatigued even without the mental pressure of trying to find non-existent time to exercise.

The NHS is a bottomless pit. On a TV programme last week there was a very spritly 98 year old who had one operation for his heart, during which he had a stroke and was carted off in an ambulance to another hospital for an operation on his brain to remove the blood clot. Both operations were successful and he went back home to recover. The doctor…[Read more]

  • Welcome to the real world.
Might be worth getting your vit d etc levels checked.

  • I have very odd dreams which I can remember as well. If I think back to the previous day I can usually find a reason for them, even a name mentioned will make me dream of someone with the same or a similar name.

If they are nothing horrible then don’t waste time worrying about them. Exercise and wine will help sleep but won’t stop dreams!

  • Terrible story to read and I can quite believe how this can happen – even in this day and age !! Social services were very helpful when I phoned them to report vulnerable local person.

Could you arrange to pick him up and have him visit you for a couple of days, when you could arrange for him to go round the retirement villages? Maybe once he saw them, he would be spurred on to sort something out?

Or could you go down to there to this woman’s place with a friend and tell her that she has to tell your father that he can’t live…[Read more]

  • Do the local colleges teach this accounts software? Does your Accountant know anyone, or would they know of a trade magazine you could advertise in? There is always the local newspaper.

Your Accountant would probably be able to help with the second person.

  • Once.

It was my FIL’s 70th birthday and he and MIL were coming to our house (a 250 mile trip) to celebrate. Unknown to him, we had invited the whole family for a surprise party on the Saturday (his actual birthday). I phoned in ill on the Friday so I could spend the day making all the food in preparation for the party on the Saturday and getting…[Read more]

My advice would be that you ask your GP to be referred for talking therapy. it worked well for me. also get yourself some legal advice on your employment situation! If you own your own home and have home insurance it may include legal expenses – some insurers have a helpline you can ring or try ACAS who are free. Good luck

  • I have a FB friend who is a lovely lady – I met her through running club, she also has a greyhound and she is really nice. The only problem is….. she is a serial ‘liker’ on FB.

Literally every time I post anything, she will like it regardless of what it is – a competition entry, a reminder to myself to enter for an event, anything! It…[Read more]

  • We had a lot of dealing with TS about a car. As I recall, we contacted them, they arranged a time to come out and discuss it and we supplied them with a mountain of paperwork. They looked into it and added it to their file of complaints about the dealers, but never did anything more than chat to them about improving their service…
