40% of NHS Walk-in centres have closed since 2010.
We have seen a loss of 14,000 NHS beds, to date.
How many A&E departments are being closed or downgraded?
The number of District Nurses in England has been cut by 28%.Why repeatedly cut funding for social care, particularly for vulnerable elderly people when it has been recognised that the primary reason for so called ‘bed-blockers’ is that there aren’t enough services in the community to enable safe discharge or to avoid hospital admission in the first place?

Obviously i can’t stop you worrying but almost the same thing happened to me when i had a brain hemorrhage over here . The doctors didn’t think i could understand them but from what i gathered afterwards it was normal for the neurologists to discuss each case together and in my case they wanted a second opinion from a more specialist unit in Toulouse because they weren’t 100% certain about the scan and i was young(ish). I got the feeling it was more normal than not. I had another scan and it was couriered off and almost straight away a positive answer came back from how they read it.
Much better for you that they are doing this rather than the alternative of doing nothing which happens quite often.
Sincerely hope all goes well for you too Supertrooper . Please do try not to worry xxxxxxxxxxxxx -

Completely agree with everything thus far. If I really needed to get myself moving and had no motivation then I’d plan a walk to somewhere I could enjoy a nice tasty meal, a bit of shopping then walk back. You’ll know best what distance you can manage but if I’m not sure how I’m feeling then I’ll plan a route with bus stops just in case.
When I lost my get up & go it was because I was ill so if this feeling lasts, get a GP appt.

I know it’s deeply controversial but the NHS maybe needs to charge for somethings to get them better without burden to the tax payer .
For instance food you eat at home why should you not pay to eat in hospital .
They would get away with serving the food that I was served if people had to pay for it. -

Our carbon monoxide alarm wasn’t going off – but the smoke alarm was chirping occasionally for a couple of hours at a time. Please, do get your boiler checked. Ours is, every year, but this still happened – and less than 6 months after the boiler was serviced.

I wonder if she is still rather in the ‘stunned’ stage of enjoying her new found wealth and doesn’t realise that she is becoming rather insufferable endlessly talking about her money. I can’t believe that she let you pay for lunch at the pub, it should have been her treat for you!
I would tell her straightforwardly, that you would love her to stay with you for the weekend but that you are too busy to have guests for longer than that though so if she would like to stay for longer, the B&B is still along the road. No need to fall out with her, although I’d be tempted to add “qnd you will be able to have a bath there!” -

I had similar a few weeks ago…I was actually losing my balance and falling over at one point… and was told it was possibly due to ear crystals! I was given the link to the video below with exercises to help and since I did it I’ve been fine.
Just to warn you though if it is to do with ear crystals then when you turn your head to the side affected the room will spin but you need to stick it out till it stops.

Once…..
I hated the job, I hated the people there. I was bloody miserable.
Holiday was outside term time only, students had finished although the term technically did not for another couple of weeks. Other staff were allowed holiday (if the face fitted, the rules seemed to be made of rubber!). I was not allowed to take a days holiday. I didn’t tell them why I wanted the day.
I called in sick and collected my parents from Heathrow airport!

I don’t drink alcohol at all, much to my OH’s delight as he never has to worry about whose driving home but as a teenager I knew many adults who would drink and drive without giving it a second thought but I am glad to say that I now have a 19 year old son who passed his test at 17 and I always make a point of telling him not to think of having a drink and driving. He assures me that him or any of his friends would never think of having even one drink and then driving, it would seem that the culture has completely changed around this subject amonsgt youngsters which can only be a good thing.

I’m so glad that you are beginning to feel a bit better. Sometimes when we are used to coping with everything that life throws at us, we can hardly believe that we have reached breaking point and don’t understand how ill we really are. It can take outsiders, such as the GP to give us ‘permission’ to be ill before we can stop for long enough to get well.
All the best! -

I’ve just been signed off for 2 weeks. Partly as I had to increase a pain medication which will might make me drowsy and a bit out of it, but mainly because the GP is worried about my mental health. Different set of more tangible stressors in my case, but nonetheless it would seem its all just gotten too much for me to cope with and I need a bit of time out. There wont be an issue getting a sick note.
I’ll be going back on reduced hours to start with on a fit note, which will give me a bit of time to adjust to the real world again. So thats another option to think about.
