I’ve had horrendous skin recently, it got infected in August and I’m 8 weeks on a waiting list for an allergy test. A friend sent me a link to an article about eczema sufferers being deficient in fillagrin, a component of the skin which helps heal and reduce cracking. I think it based on your genetics.
Anyhow, this linked on to a supplement product that is supposed to help this with histidine in it. I do think skin is more what you put in rather than on, and a quick bit of googling told me histidine is found more on meat and dairy products more than anything. I am a veggie who consumes minimal dairy so I could seemingly be deficient?
Link to product below, has anyone else heard of this? Thought this could be informative also if there are other sufferers on here
Funnily enough I was just reading about histadine earlier today, when checking my facts while answering the ‘obese’ thread. I don’t know about the supplement but if you think you might need it, I would start taking it and monitor very carefully.
